In EDUC 394, lesson planning is used as a vehicle in this course to introduce BC’s Curriculum, First Peoples Principles of Learning, and assessment. You will be coached throughout the course on how to use BC’s Curriculum and practice how to create lesson planning ideas to possibly implement in the future. The learning objectives of lesson planning in EDUC 394 is to access BC’s Curriculum, how to navigate BC’s Curriculum, and apply aspects of BC’s Curriculum to lesson planning, assessment, universal design for learning, the First Peoples Principles of Learning, and the Core Competencies.
This webpage is intended to upload your “best” lesson plan created during EDUC 394, a reflection of your learning experience with BC’s Curriculum in context to lesson planning, and the perceived potential of BC’s Curriculum. Webpages on the e-portfolio are intended for summative assessment or achievements. We will be iterating the learning process for lesson planning with hopes of posting your best version of the lesson plan near the end of the course. Lesson plans “in progress” and reflection can be posted in the “blog” section of the e-portfolio as a demonstration your learning that is formative.
Success Critieria:
- Upload the final draft of your lesson plan from EDUC 394 as a PDF.
- Provide a 300-500 word reflection of the lesson planning process.
- In your reflection, answer: (1) what did you learn; (2) why does it matter; and (3) what do you want to learn next with lesson planning.
- Images, links, etc. are optional, if these additions will enhance the post.
